The Retro Umbrella Co umbrellas on The Block 2026 were chosen for pool and outdoor terrace areas, and that is exactly what they are built for. Each one has a 3m double-tier canopy that shades a lounge setting or an outdoor dining table, and the second tier lets warm air escape so the space underneath stays cooler.
The canopy is solution-dyed acrylic, which means the colour runs through the fibre rather than sitting on the surface, so it holds its colour through Australian summers. It is rated UVE 99.0% and Ultra-Heavy Cover, independently lab-tested to AS 4174 (see the sun protection results). The frame is powder-coated aluminium with a 48mm centre pole, stands 2.7m high and is wind tested to 60km/h.
Every umbrella comes with a protective cover, a 1-year craftsmanship warranty and a 2-year fabric fade warranty (warranty details), with free standard shipping Australia-wide (shipping options). Are they suitable for windy spots?
The umbrellas are wind tested to 60km/h. As with any market umbrella, close it when strong wind is forecast and use a properly weighted base. The 25kg base weight plate sits on top of the base for extra stability in open or exposed spots.
