A beautiful canopy needs a frame and a base that keep it steady and keep it looking new. Here is every part, what it does and why it's built the way it is.
Wind-tunnel tested to 60km/h on the 24.5kg basePowder-coated aluminium
Sold separately · $299
The 24.5kg base.
What it does
A 24.5kg octagonal base in powder-coated steel, sized for the 48mm pole and shaped to match the 8-panel canopy.
Why it matters
Stability is everything with a 3m canopy. The umbrella is wind-tunnel tested to 60km/h on this base, and powder-coated steel stands up to sun, rain and pool splash.
$299
For open or exposed spots · $199
The extra weight plate.
What it does
An octagonal plate that sits on top of the base, matching its shape, for extra weight where you need it.
Why it matters
Rooftops, headlands and open lawns catch more wind. The plate adds stability in exposed spots without changing how the base looks.
$199
On every umbrella
The 48mm pole.
What it does
A 48mm powder-coated aluminium centre pole with pulley, standing the canopy 2.7m high.
Why it matters
Aluminium resists rust and corrosion, and the powder coat protects it from the weather. A 48mm pole stays rigid under a 3m canopy.
On every umbrella
The sliding mechanism.
What it does
An aluminium sliding mechanism opens and closes the canopy along the pole.
Why it matters
Metal where it matters means it keeps working season after season, and the umbrella retracts easily when it isn’t in use.
Included
The protective cover.
What it does
A fitted cover for the closed canopy, included with every umbrella.
Why it matters
Closing and covering the umbrella when it isn’t in use is the simplest way to keep it safe and looking new for longer.
Set it up for the wind.
Three habits that keep a 3m umbrella steady.
Use a properly weighted base
The umbrella is wind-tunnel tested to 60km/h on our 24.5kg base, sized for the 48mm pole.
Add weight in exposed spots
On rooftops, headlands and open lawns, add the extra weight plate on top of the base.
Close it when wind is forecast
As with any market umbrella, close it in strong wind and use the cover when it isn't in use.
